light until I’m upturned and hollowed out

the edge she needs until there is no space for

enveloping her like putty she moulds me at

a darkening where there are no sharps I

blowing and puckering to gather her in to

pupils in response to my presence

Devjani Bodepudi is a writer based in the UK. She has been published widely in several independent anthologies and zines. Devjani was shortlisted for the Aurora Poetry Prize 2023 and her debut poetry pamphlet, FOR THE DAUGHTERS CARRIED HERE ON THE HIPS OF THEIR MOTHERS (Fawn Press) won the Saboteur Award, 2023.
