No Timidity with Snow by Matthew J. Andrews

No Timidity with Snow

It does nothing to conceal itself,

piling up on streets, crowding

the spaces between branches.

As we walk home from the bar,

I reach across the gap to vanquish

the chasm between our footprints.

Darkness settles all around, but

windswept flurries stand in for stars

and every surface shines like the moon.
